Electronic locks are a combination of microcomputer and high-reliability mechanical lock in a single case. The locks normally have a built-in clock to differentiate access level depending on date and time, use standard battery, independent memory to record up to 1000 access attempts, and audible indication (open-closed, programming, battery condition).
